La Forêt relates to the fierce landscapes we saw in the broken crockery of Julian Schnabel's paintings. After we shared this with painter Ilse Vanderbeken, she started creating canvases unraveling the mystery of La Forêt.
This kimono is the figurehead of the La Forêt collection and displays a woven forest painting on the back. At the first glance this forest looks terrifying, but the extraordinary level of detail in the embroidery and softness of the material give the forest an unexpected tangible quality and desirability.
